Mavis Leinen

Mavis has been employed with St. Luke Homes & Services, Inc. since May 1987 working in the St. Luke Lutheran Nursing Home. In February 1999, she transferred to Riverview Terrace Assisted Living upon completion of the facility. Later, in November 2002, Mavis moved to The Highlands becoming the manager and sales and service coordinator where she continues working in the position today.

She serves as the full-time concierge for The Highlands. Mavis’s duties include: marketing the suites through advertising campaigns, sending out information to prospective clients, overseeing and coordinating the updating and painting of all empty suites,  orchestrating activities, preparing a monthly calendar and newsletter, maintenance and health issues- routing them to the proper staff or agencies, and lending a listening ear when needed.

Mavis is married to Chuck Leinen. They have two sons, Jeremy and Nate, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Mavis and Chuck have been living in Spencer since 1972 and are members of the First English Lutheran Church.

In her spare time, Mavis enjoys singing at First English Lutheran Church’s worship service and choir, teaching preschool Sunday school class, listening to Christian music, and taking care of her grandchildren.

Her hobbies include: scrapbooking, photography, crafts, flower arranging at the Clay County Fair, and decorating.
