Carrie Sloan

Carrie Sloan, DPT, CEEAA
Physical Therapist/Team Leader

Carrie has been with St. Luke Homes & Services, Inc. since the inception of the partnership Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers Contract Therapy Division developed with St. Luke in October 2010.

She attended college at St. Scholastica located in Duluth, MN receiving her Master's in Physical Therapy in 1998. In 2006, Carrie graduated from Creighton University located in Omaha, Nebraska with a transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Shen then went on to further her education in May 2011 by completing the certification for Expert in Exercising the Aging Adult (CEEAA). Other additional training Carrie possesses include the following: Complete Decongestive Therapy for Lymphedema management, Osteoporosis, and women's health (urinary incontinence and pelvic pain).

Carrie has been working with the geriatric population in various settings since her 1998 graduation from St. Scholastica. She has been with Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers Contract Therapy Division since 2008 after coming into the area. In 2010, she moved into a full-time team leader position in addition to being a Physical Therapist for the St. Luke campus.

 

Gary Hansen

Gary Hansen
Speech Language Pathologist

Gary first became part of the dedicated staff at St. Luke Homes & Services, Inc. in the early 1990s and now serves as St. Luke's Speech Language Pathologist through the established relationship made with Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers Contract Therapy Division.

He was born and raised just south of Spencer, Iowa. Upon graduation from Sioux Valley Community School, Gary went onto the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota, where he received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Minors in French, Psychology, and Special Education in 1979. In 1988, he went onto further his education at Moorhead State University located in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he obtained a Master's of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology with an emphasis on Special Education in 1991.

Gary has been in the health care industry for many years. He has education, training, and experience with adults, geriatric individuals, children, inpatient, outpatient, home patient, and skilled nursing facilities. He has worked with mentally ill geriatric patients at South Dakota Human Services Center, children, adolescents, and adults at Hope Haven, and served as the Program Director at Friendship, INc. for two group homes for severely-profoundly disabled children and adults. Gary has also worked for various contract rehabilitation companies in Northwest Iowa for the past 20+ years. Currently, he works for Accelerated Rehabilitation's Long Term Care-Contract Therapy Division in Iowa.

Currently, he lives in Estherville, Iowa with his wife. They have two adult sons; one works in Estherville, Iowa and the other in Spencer, Iowa.

 

Dawn Fletner

Dawn Fletner
Occupational Therapist

Dawn has been with St. Luke Homes & Services, Inc. since May 2011.

Dawn attended Central College located in Pella, IA where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology. She then went on to further her education at St. Catherine located in St. Paul, MN obtaining a Master’s of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy.

She has been working in Long Term Care for the majority of her career with experience in orthopedics, neuro, wheelchair positioning, vision, dementia care, mental health, and splinting/hand therapy.

Amy Profit
Physical Therapist Assistant & ATC Certified Athletic Trainer

Amy has been with St. Lukes Homes & Services, Inc. since May 2011.

Amy has attended North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) located in Mason City where she studied in the Physical Therapist Program. She then continued her education at Iowa State University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Athletic Training.

Amy has ten years of experience in an outpatient clinic specializing in orthopedics, workers compensation, and athletic inuries. She also has provided outreach athletic training services to various area high schools.

 

Kim Thompson

Kim Thompson, COTA/L
Occupational Therapist Assistant

Kim has been with St. Luke Homes & Services, Inc. since February 2011 when she joined Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers Contract Therapy Division. Two years prior, Kim worked as a P.R.N. in North Central Iowa.

She graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1983.

Kim has been exposed to various areas of practice including: long term care, chiropractic, school, and vision therapy.

Her specialized training includes: neuromuscular techniques utilized for work injuries, rotator cuff injuries, whiplash, and other muscular injuries.
