SPECIALIZED SERVICES

Social Services
St. Luke Lutheran Nursing Home employs a full-time state-licensed social worker. The social service department works to maintain and improve each resident's ability ot manage everyday physical, mental and psychosocial needs.

Contact is maintained with families in an effort to keep the appropriate parties abreast of important information pertaining to the resident. The social service department also makes referrals to outside agencies for services.

Care Review Committee
Our Care Review Committee is made up of volunteers who serve as advocates for our residents. Members are trained by the Northwest Iowa Aging Association. The committee members' role is to observe our resident care and to visit with residents regarding the quality of life in the home.

Dietary Services
The dietary department provides a nourishing, homemade, and well-balanced diet to meet the daily nutritional and specific dietary needs of each resident. A licensed dietician identifies dietary needs and assists the certified dietary manager to provide a quality dietary program.

Auxiliary & Volunteers
St. Luke is associated with 5 area Lutheran churches whose members form the St. Lukes Auxiliary. These dedicated volunteers provide services to our residents, including monthly birthday parties, sewing, bingo, annual bazaar, and daily volunteer work. More than 150 volunteers are recognized each year for their dedicated service to the home.
